I can’t sleep and quite frankly don’t care to anymore. I had a vicious series of nightmares tonight and have been fighting insomnia for the better part of nine years. Sonata helps in spurts but I can’t take it regularly for a variety for reasons. Anything stronger or longer-lasting and I can’t function the next day or in response to on-call events. I practice good sleep hygiene and I’m not often abducted by aliens.
Anymore random posts like this and I’m sure one of you will volunteer to knock me unconscious regularly. -Ali
Happy New Gregorian Year! I took the opportunity to reboot and start fresh... like so many wishful resolutions before. Ruined my uptime but who is counting. ;-)
What were the biggest stories of 2006? Which will stick in your head for decades to come? There are obvious contenders like Iran & Ahmadinejad, the Democrats sweeping election victories, rising gas prices, the James Kim tragedy, the conviction and execution of Saddam Hussein, and Polonium 210.
What are the stories we may not have heard of? If you’ve got a good reality filter then wander over to Project Censored. If you’re worried about waking up on December 22, 2012 you can check out Project Camelot too. I’m a fan of crawling MemeStreams as well.
UPDATE 01022007: Project Camelot was supposed to be more entertaining than anything else. Don't get me wrong, I keep an eye on such sites like The Disclosure Project and CTRL but I'm not presenting them as ~media~ watchdogs.
I’m going to settle back down and finish a book or two before morning. Y’all take care in 2007. Cheers, -Ali
